Victoria’s Lunch

Victoria sent this picture where she is with her grandma and holding the book I signed for her at the Beaverbrook Hotel.
Her Mother sent this wonderful letter:

Dear Mr. Munsch:
My name is Stephanie Campbell and I am the mother of the now-famous (at least according to her) Victoria Helen Campbell of Fredericton. After seeing the article in yesterday’s Daily Gleaner regarding your search for Victoria, we had to write you right away! We are enclosing a copy of the article, as well a picture Victoria drew for you.

First of all, let me say thank you, thank you, thank you for making our little girl’s day last month – both with your visit to her table at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel – and with the story inspired by her during your performance that night. We have been fans of yours for years, and Victoria had been invited to your performance by my mother-in-law, Fay Campbell, as a special treat for her sixth birthday. Imagine her sheer delight in not only meeting you, but being the subject of one of your stories!…

The next time you’re in Fredericton, my husband Chris and I would be most honoured if you could join us for lunch. We would be only too pleased to serve peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and even moose Juice, if you like. Between Victoria and her sister, Elizabeth (aged two-and-a-half), we can provide lots of entertainment!

Up to now, for obvious reasons, my favourite Robert Munsch story has been “Stephanie’s Ponytail,” but I must say now it is “Victoria’s Lunch.” If this story is ever to be published, please let us know, so that we can order the first 5,000,000 copies for Victoria’s family and friends.
