In 1996, a class from Joplin, Missouri sent me drawings of themselves and I made up a poem to go with each drawing. In 2000, I was in Joplin for a conference and Mrs. Boyd, the wonderful teacher of this class, tracked them down and I took them out to dinner. It was neat to really see these kids, who for 4 years had only been pictures.
