Each Thursday afternoon we have a parent mystery reader come into the classroom and read a non-fiction and a fictional piece to the students. Mr. Haywood volunteered to be our second mystery reader. He told that he was Canadian and a physicist. I was a bit nervous due to the lofty profession … and chose two pretty tame books for him to read. Then Mr. Haywood walked through the classroom door in his red converse all-star tennis shoes.
